Lincoln is noted for its stellar K-12 grade school system, and home to Lincoln Technical Institute and Community College of RI.

Local entertainment includes CW Theatres a 16 screen cinema, CW Lanes & Games, R1 Indoor Karting, and Rock Spot, to name a few.  Lincoln is also home to Twin River Casino, the state’s largest gaming and entertainment center.  The town has numerous restaurants and convenient shopping.

Lincoln Commons

Shopping and Entertainment

Lincoln Commons, formerly known as Lincoln Mall, has been a town staple for nearly 50 years.  Located at the junctions of I295 and Routes 116 & 146, the Commons (former Mall) opened in 1973, and was the biggest retail outlet in northern Rhode Island.  The old style indoor mall received a much needed makeover in 2006 when it was converted to a modern, plaza-style shopping center providing most stores with individual entrances.  The Commons is a suburban retail and entertainment center situated on over 578,000 square feet, and home to a diverse collection of stores and restaurants as well as a 16 screen movie theatre with bowling lanes and an arcade.   Parallel to Route 116, within the boundaries of the Commons but not attached to the plaza, are a number of free-standing buildings including Santander Bank, Chili’s Restaurant, McDonald’s, Stop & Shop Gas Station, Chipotle, Ocean State Job Lot, Asia Grille, IHop and Starbucks.  A few of the stores located inside the Commons are Target, Marshalls, Five Below, Burlington and Home Goods.  Maxx Fitness also occupies a 20K+ square foot area on the backside of the Commons.  You might also be surprised to learn that the campus for Lincoln Technical Institute, a career training school for automotive, culinary, medical/health services and IT, is located within Lincoln Commons.
